At our hypnotherapy practice, we believe in taking a personalised approach to each client’s needs and goals. However, there are certain elements that are common to most hypnotherapy sessions.
First, the hypnotherapist will spend some time getting to know the client and their reasons for seeking hypnotherapy. This may involve discussing the client’s goals, any challenges they are facing, and their medical history.
Next, the hypnotherapist will guide the client into a state of deep relaxation. This may involve asking the client to focus on their breathing, or using techniques such as progressive muscle relaxation.
Once the client is in a state of hypnosis, the hypnotherapist will communicate positive suggestions and visualisations to the client. These suggestions are tailored to the client’s specific needs and goals, and are designed to help the client create new patterns of thought and behaviour that support their desired outcomes.
Throughout the session, the client remains fully in control of their thoughts and actions, and is able to terminate the hypnosis at any time if they choose to do so. The hypnotherapist acts as a guide, helping the client to access their own inner resources and create positive change in their lives.
At the end of the session, the hypnotherapist will guide the client out of the hypnotic state and back to full waking consciousness. The client may feel relaxed, refreshed, and more focused on their goals.
An audio recording (MP3) will be provided from your session for you to use at home, which you will be able to play on your phone or device. This will help to reinforce the positive suggestions and visualisations which we have done during the session. There may also be relevant tasks for you to do between sessions.
Overall, a hypnotherapy session is a safe, non-invasive way to help clients overcome a variety of challenges, including anxiety, phobias, and bad habits.
